Established under Proclamation No. 1372/2025, ETiCPA is Ethiopia’s new legally mandated professional accountancy body.
Its creation signals a historic commitment to transparency, accountability, public trust, and global alignment in financial reporting and
auditing. ETiCPA is entrusted with developing a strong, ethical, and internationally recognized accountancy profession that serves the
public interest and supports Ethiopia’s economic and social transformation.

Our Mandate

ETiCPA is legally empowered to:

• Register and certify accounting technicians and certified public accountants
• Set professional standards, including ethics and practice requirements
• Administer examinations and qualification programs
• Enforce quality assurance, inspections, and disciplinary processes
• Promote ethics, independence, and public interest protection
• Strengthen public confidence in financial reporting and governance systems All team members are encouraged to participate and share updates.
